The graduate program in school psychology at Fort Hays State University has a long history of preparing students for entry into the profession of school psychology. Upon completion of the program you will be eligible for licensure as a school psychologist in Kansas as well as other states.

The TSYS School of Computer Science offers the Master of Science in Applied Computer Science, with courses available both on campus and on-line. Although there is only a single degree track, it is the intent of the school that a student be able to attain the degree either by taking only on-campus courses, or by taking only on-line courses, or by taking a combination of the two types of courses, as best fits the students schedule and travel requirements. Each graduate course in Computer Science will be scheduled for on-campus or on-line offering as the student demand requires.

An undergraduate major in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Information Science / Systems, Computer Engineering or other closely related field from an accredited college or university AND Demonstrated experience in the fundamentals of computer programming and knowledge in the fundamental principles of computer science AND A minimum combined score of 900 (pre Nov. 2011) or 290 (after Nov. 2011) on the verbal and quantitative sections of the GRE.

Students complete the program through a combination of accelerated 8-week terms and 16-week semesters. Our online approach is unique because it includes regularly scheduled synchronous live-audio lectures (available evenings and Saturdays) as well as asynchronous learning sessions.

Synchronous learning: This is real-time, instructor-led, online learning. All participants log on at the same time and communicate with each other via two-way audio and chat.

Asynchronous learning: Students access and study course material at their convenience. They communicate with the instructor and classmates via email and discussion boards.

Chat Hours in our online courses provide an opportunity for the instructor and students to communicate in in "real time". It is an informative and interactive session where course related questions, answers, and discussions take place. While student attendance during chat hours is not required, it is highly recommended. Weekly chat sessions are archived for students who are not able to participate in the live chat sessions at the scheduled times.

Online degree courses are offered in 8-week accelerated terms and run concurrently with classroom courses.
